rAVe UCC — Volume 13, Issue 5
Latest headlines: Mark Coxon on AV and the sum of its parts, Katie Clark on UCC Day of LAVNCH WEEK 5, plus news from Extron, DTEN and more

March 14, 2022 | Volume: 13 | Issue: 5

Mark Coxon makes a few great point in his most recent article. The main one is that AV is a lot more than the sum of its parts. Isn’t that true? It’s more than the visuals and the audio and the lighting. It’s about creating experiences from all the technology working together. While this column is about creating experiences in the world of XR, VR, MR, etc. etc., this is something you also should spend time thinking about. If you’re rolling out Microsoft “Front Row” — Mark says there are some considerations to be aware of to make sure you give meeting participants the proper experience. Check it out!

Next up, don’t miss our recap article all about UCC Day from LAVNCH WEEK 5! Katie Clark highlights each part of the day, but don’t forget: If you’re interested in catching any part of the day on demand — head on over to LAVNCH.com and check it out!

P.S. Our team is gearing up this week for Enterprise Connect March 21-23. Will you be there? Is there anything, in particular, you think I should check out? Let me know!

COLUMNS

+ AV Is More Than the Sum of Its Parts [Mark Coxon]

If you’re looking at someone on the left side, you should hear audio coming from that location. The sound should come from the position of the visual focus, as otherwise there will always be a disconnect in the brain on the source (your visual attention is straight ahead but your auditory attention is focused above you). It may not make you vomit, but it will cause fatigue over time.
