Hello rAVe Ed! What’s this? Your last issue of November, of course! And you know what that means! Exams are close, or they are happening right now — so I wish you all godspeed during all of the AV/tech questions I am sure you will be asked during hell week.
Let’s take a quick news tour: I implore you to hurry up and go check out Barco’s Overture microsite because it might disappear forever — as Gary Kayye writes, the company “is no longer spending R&D money of development of Overture” but will retain the rights and intellectual property. Mark Coxon takes us through a journey on the concept of original thought by using the anecdote of his daughter’s school’s grading system. He relates that to AV by asking all of you — how can you both learn the concepts and then apply them to get an “A”?
In other news, Aurora released what it is calling the very first USA-made thermal temperature tablet, Epson has six new laser displays, VuWall introduced a new software platform for AV-over-IP content distribution and more.
I hope you enjoy your last issue of the month, and I would like to wish you a Happy (Early) Thanksgiving if that is what you celebrate.
Stay cool!
