June 28, 2021 | Volume: 13 | Issue: 12

Hello everyone! What a month it’s been! By that, I mean that it’s been hectic, and I’m happy to see June go! That being said, I much prefer to be busy and have a million things to do rather than having nothing to do. What about you? Do you prefer a full to-do list or like to have all the time in the world on your hands?

Mark Coxon has a column for you this time all about three things he says will majorly affect the projects coming back for all integrators in our industry: lead times, deadlines and price increases. Check it out!

Tony Sprando and Kate Couch have a column this week as well, all about how health and wellness are playing more of a part in the industry. It’s not hard to figure out how digital signage fits in that! There are plenty of opportunities for signage in health environments — especially as many doctors’ offices and hospitals are enforcing COVID-19 regulations like social distancing.

Also, catch the latest headlines this time from Barco, Sharp NEC Display Solutions, Prysm Systems, Visix and more!

COLUMNS

+ Navigating the Rebound — Lead Times, Deadlines and Price Increases [Mark Coxon]

I’ve been talking to quite a few integrators lately and the good news is that there seems to be a large backlog of projects coming back online. As exciting as that is, the past 15 months are still creating shockwaves that mean for most integrators, these projects are potentially going to be a lot less profitable than they were at the time they were bid and awarded. Why is that? It comes down to Lead Times, Deadlines and Price Increases.

+ Health and Wellness: A Bigger Concern and Fast-growing Industry [Tony Sprando and Kate Couch]

The health and wellness industry is a much bigger industry than most people realize. In fact, according to the Global Wellness Institute, the wellness economy is currently valued at 4.5 trillion dollars and represents 5.3% of global economic output. COVID-19 companies are forced to be hyper-aware of how they are dealing with their employee’s and customers’ health. But how does audiovisual come into this?
