Did any of you watch Robert Mueller’s testimony before the U.S. House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees? Today Paul Konikowski talks about how there are lessons for the AV industry in some of what he said. Don’t worry — rAVe isn’t getting political! It’s really about cybersecurity and how cooperation and collaboration between companies is paramount to keeping malicious actors out of our products, systems and networks.
Don’t miss it.Mark Coxon also talks about how retail is not actually dead and how opportunities still abound. If you do work in the retail space, make sure to

In our Tech Round-up section, I link to a story Dave Haynes wrote on AdMobilize
receiving a patent for analytics-triggered signage content. This is kind of a big deal — we’ve been seeing this type of thing demonstrated (by more than just AdMobilize) at trade shows for years where AI technology plus camera vision would allow a display to “see” who was looking at the display, say a 50-year-old woman, and customize the content based on that information. This is known as anonymous video analytics, since the vendor wouldn’t know who the person was, just attributes about them that would allow for content geared towards that demographic. Now any company that wants to do that is going to have to license AdMobilize’s technology, or potentially face their lawyers.

you can view the recording of here. We gave out almost 100 awards, none of which any companies had to pay, or even fill out an entry form, to enter. If a product was on the show floor at InfoComm 2019 in Orlando, it was considered!
