When focused on video upgrades, don’t ignore the importance of audio, rAVe BlogSquad member Andres Caamano argues this week. “When thinking of improving the stream, video often tends to get a heavy dose of attention. Nonetheless, the value of audio actually plays a larger role…,” he writes.
I feel like I’ve heard that vital argument more than ever this year, even more than any other of my eight years at rAVe. Is it because our houses of worship are more dispersed than ever? Surely that’s the case. If anything, (we hope) the pandemic has shed light on how much AV, UCC and Digital Signage can bridge the gap between viewers at home and viewers in the space. “In figuring how a church can improve a stream, turning to an integrator for answers should be in the mix,” Caamano adds.
Yes, yes and yes.
I also enjoyed Murphy Daley’s story this week, “Making the Change Order a Friend.” Daley talks about how to embrace and prepare for change orders in the context of project management — but her advice applies to all of us in HoW and AV. The story — speaking about embracing change — ties very nicely to an interesting LinkedIn headline I saw this week, saying that the top two priority skills employers are now seeking in 2021 are resiliency and digital fluency. From the report:
—Resilience is the #1 skill to build in these countries: US, Canada, France, the UK, Australia and New Zealand
—Digital fluency is the #1 skill to build in these countries: Germany, Southeast Asia and India
How will you embrace this week’s advice, trending stories and product news as you build AV products that continue to enable human connection in our most important spaces, like homes and houses of worship?
