In today’s newsletter, you’ll find a column from Gary Kayye on Disney’s HoloTile — a product that creates a moving floor so you can play VR or XR games without worrying about running into things. This is pretty useful. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched friends hurt themselves wearing one pair of VR goggles or another. HOWEVER … will this be the product that finally convinces me to put on a pair of those bad boys? Never. Y’all enjoy, though. I’m going against a lot of people’s beliefs when I say I don’t think that VR headsets are ever going to REALLY take off. Y’all remember Google Cardboard? Everyone’s favorite forehead grease collector? We’ve come a long way, but not that long.
