Hello and happy Tuesday! We had a busy day at rAVe during the E4 Evolution event! If you missed it, you can see content for the next three days on the E4 Evolution page and other content on our Twitter page. Check it out!
Our first column this week looks at cycles in the AV industry market. There’s a typical rotation of innovation and iteration before a period of disruption in AV, and Mark Coxon has a great article on how these cycles work. He discusses how periods of iteration can create an environment for disruption, and sometimes, the disruption is right up our alley — just think of what solutions AV has produced throughout the pandemic.
Our second piece is by Bryce Dunn over at Audinate, and it discusses something we’re all familiar with by now — supply chain issues. The question this time is, how can we protect the supply chain in a way that will serve integrators and end users? Bryce’s piece discusses ways that Audinate is trying to alleviate stress from the supply chain, like finding alternate parts where applicable and investing in software-based offerings.
Lastly, we’ve got a new piece on loudspeaker directivity by Mike Sims of QSC. Mike says “directivity is the difference between the on-axis response and the off-axis response of a loudspeaker” — that’s a pretty technical sentence! The good thing is, technical advice is always needed in HOW for our sound setups. Get an understanding of polar plots and frequency responses in this piece.
That’s all for today, #AVtweeps! I hope you have a great rest of your week and don’t forget to visit that E4 Evolution page to see the day’s content! As always, have a great one, and I’ll see you next time!
