Welcome to the second edition of Tomorrow’s Tech Today from LAVNCH [CODE].
All eyes have been on the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. And even if you aren’t a fan of Simone Biles, Caeleb Dressel, Léon Marchand, or any of the other 11,000+ amazing Olympic athletes, you have to appreciate the technology it takes to run these games. The 2024 Paris Olympics will produce more coverage than ever, over 11,000 hours, and incorporate innovative technologies.
Key focus areas include AI, 5G, and immersive experiences. The opening ceremony used projection mapping on the Eiffel Tower, 40 LED lights, and water mist to “light” the floating cauldron. There are advanced cinematic cameras, projection solutions from Panasonic, and broadcast tech from Sony and other vendors throughout Paris and the surrounding cities to bring the action of games to the rest of the world.
We’ll report more on the tech used in Paris, but in the meantime, this issue offers insights on AI and its impact on the future of ProAV, the latest emerging tech updates, industry developments, and more.
