Alfatron Electronics announced the availability of its ALF-IPK1HE 4K Networked Encoder and ALF-IPK1HD 4K Networked Decoder, a pair of AV-over-IP devices designed for high-quality, low-latency audio and video distribution across networked environments. The combination enables users to transmit lightly compressed 4K signals with lossless visual quality over standard Ethernet, making it well suited for videowalls, sports bars and other commercial AV applications.

Both units support resolutions up to 4K at 30 Hz and work via HDMI 1.4 with HDCP 2.2 content protection. Using high-efficiency H.264 and H.265 codecs, they deliver clear images and smooth playback while maintaining low bandwidth usage. Each device supports MPEG4-AAC and LPCM stereo audio formats to ensure consistent sound quality across systems.

Designed for plug-and-play operation, the ALF-IPK1HE encoder and ALF-IPK1HD decoder operate with unmanaged network switches, eliminating the need for manual IP configuration. Both can be used in IP video matrix and videowall configurations through Alfatron’s VDirector control app for iOS. Built-in scalers in each unit enable fast, seamless switching between sources.

The encoder also includes features such as RS-232 passthrough, preview management and local audio de-embedding with line output. Users can drag and drop video sources within the VDirector app to assign them to specific displays.
