AJA Video Systems has introduced the DRM2-Plus, a 3RU frame designed to house up to 24 AJA Mini-Converters. Built for professional AV, film and television, live production and broadcast environments, DRM2-Plus is available in four models with support for active or passive cooling and single or redundant power supplies, offering up to 288 watts of total power.

Based on the design of the original AJA DRM2 frame shown at InterBEE 2023, the DRM2-Plus adds a hinged faceplate and individual carriers, allowing users to access or swap out Mini-Converters without removing the frame from the rack.

The added interior space, combined with the optional DRM2-YC Y-cable accessory, allows double-stacking of up to 12 smaller AJA FiDO or D5 Series Mini-Converters with Mini-Con-X power connectors, enabling a total of 24 converters in one unit.

The DRM2-Plus can also accommodate:

• Up to 12 mid-size AJA Mini-Converters with Mini-Con-X connectors
• Up to six larger converters, including models like the DANTE-12GAM, which feature an LCD display and Mini-XLR power connectors

Users may combine both Mini-Con-X- and Mini-XLR-powered Mini-Converters using AJA adapter accessories.

The frame also introduces support for internally mounting a third-party USB hub to enable communication with the installed Mini-Converters. DRM2-Plus and its accessories replace the previous DRM2 models.
