The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) announced that Astrodesign, AVPro Edge and Sencore have become AIMS members. The three companies join AIMS as the adoption of SMPTE ST 2110 continues to accelerate in the broadcast market and as the alliance’s Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) set of open standards and specifications gains momentum in the ProAV industry.

AIMS ultimately want to drive the adoption of IPMX as a standard for AV-over-IP that’s based on the broadcast standard for uncompressed video over a network, known as SMPTE ST 2210.

Astrodesign specializes in real-time, high-speed digital signal processing technology, and the company claims to have developed several “world’s first” products, including 8K devices. AVPro Edge specializes in full-bandwidth audio-video distribution. Working with HDMI, HDBaseT and HDCP; the company develops solutions for ProAV integrators. Sencore is a leader in the development of signal transmission and content monitoring solutions for the broadcast, cable, satellite and IPTV markets.
