Adtec Digital Introduces Soloist 4111 HD Digital Media Server

Adtec introduced at InfoComm the Soloist 4111 HD, a digital media server for MPEG 4 H.264, MPEG 2 and VC-1 high definition and standard definition media playback from a hard drive, IP stream decoding, and Cable QAM, Satellite QPSK and terrestrial ATSC and DVB-T interfaces.

The Soloist 4111 allows playback of HD MPEG 4, MPEG-2 and VC-1 media as well as content management capabilities with media and schedules on the server.

The company says it can turn into IPTV networks, decoding IP Multicast HD content with fall-back playout of stored content. For private IP networks (PVNs), you can stream content to the Soloist 4111 HD over IP for point-to-point or multicast playout. And the Soloist 4111 HD also is useful in broadcast and cable television, museums, large screen presentations and IP IRD for backhaul because of its large storage capacity, one rack-unit size and ability to encode the highest quality of video at 40Mbs.
