- 190 professionals earned the CTS designations at the show — and 40 of those added the coveted CTS-D or CTS-I to their name. Congratulations to the newest CTS holders! Cheers to Bill, Martin, CTS, the first person to pass the CTS exam at the show. Hailing from Australia, Martin went after his credentials to make the most of business opportunities: “I’ve been working in the industry since 1982. It was time to get my CTS — more and more jobs are requiring it.”
- The Certification Committee met. This elected committee works to protect CTS holders’ credentials and provides oversight in the development and administration of Certified Technology Specialist certifications.
Certification Committee member Chuck Espinoza, CTS-D, CTS-I, says that the committee “not only thinks about the credential as an important, industry recognized, personal certification that each member has put in a significant about of time, effort, and expense to attain, but also as an ANSI accredited hallmark that identifies certified AV industry professionals as more than just the average or the norm of their craft.”
This dedication assures the credentials meet and maintain industry best practices in credentialing, as well as adhering to ANSI guidelines.
“The Certification Committee keeps the individual credential holder and the industry as the focus of their decision making when dealing in matters of certification. We place an extremely high value on our members’ credentials, and protect those credentials from abuse or misuse,” Espinoza says.
