After a Year of Showing It, Sharp Makes 8K Monitor Launch Official – And Is Already Shipping It

The new 70″ 8M-B70AU 8K LCD monitor is now available from Sharp using a native 7680×4320 resolution display, that’s technically 16 times higher than 1080p full HD — 33 million pixels. Specified at a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness and integrated HDR, the 8M-B70AU converts any inkling signal to 8K resolution and has full array LED backlighting with local dimming technology. Inputs include four 8K-capable HDMI inputs, DisplayPort, VGA and USB. In addition, it can be controlled via network or RS232. It does draw 445 watts of power when in use but remember this is the first and only 8K display in the world.

There aren’t a lot more specific specs on the display, but you can see all of them here and you can download a PDF brochure here.
