Want to Understand How Sony’s InfoComm Attendee-Wowing Crystal LED (CLEDIS) Video Wall Technology Works?
If you were at InfoComm you not only heard about Sony’s giant 32’x9’ video wall using a brand-new display technology called Crystal-LED, you went and looked at it. It was THE display technology and device that garnered the most attention at InfoComm 2016. And, not because it is new — it’s stunning. They call it Canvas and, at InfoComm, they demo’d it in an 8Kx2K resolution format. The product uses what’s called Micro-LEDs (something totally new) that are 1/100th the size of conventional LEDs and, well, you need to watch this video to understand dhow they did it. If you didn’t see it, you will eventually hear about this — I can’t remember a new display technology being talked about this much in recent years — maybe TI’s DLP technology intro at InfoComm 1996? Sander Phipps, Sony’s Product Marketing Manager for Displays, took the time to patiently answer all my technology questions in this video interview.
