Toshiba Wins Buyers Laboratory’s Summer 2014 Outstanding Achievement Award for Energy Efficiency

TOSHIBA-Demonstrates-Its-First-1TB-Hybrid-HDD-2IRVINE, Calif. (July 22, 2014) — Recognizing the energy efficiency of Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc.’s e-STUDIO™407CS multifunction product (MFP), Buyers Laboratory LLC, (BLI) today presents the Irvine, Calif. company with its Summer 2014 “Outstanding Achievement” Award for energy efficiency. BLI is one of the world’s leading independent providers of analytical information and services to the digital imaging and document management industry.
The leading managed print services (MPS) provider and business content management innovator’s color A4 device earned this distinction after its exceptional overall performance during BLI’s rigorous environmental testing. While undergoing BLI’s environmental testing simulating real-world workflows, the e-STUDIO407CS projected a 52 percent savings than other similar A4 MFPs tested. The e-STUDIO407CS’s energy-efficient design and suite of environmentally-friendly features also contributed to Toshiba’s award.
“For small-and-medium-sized businesses keen to reduce energy consumption and waste, the e-STUDIO407CS is an ideal fit,” said Martin Soane, BLI’s European lab manager. “Users have access to many environmental features, such as proof and job review modes, which help to reduce toner and paper consumption. It also comes defaulted to duplex mode for print output, which encourages best practice printing in the office environment.”
Earlier this year, Toshiba earned BLI’s Winter 2014 “Outstanding Achievement” Award for energy efficiency for its e-STUDIO2550C.
“It is an honor to receive Buyers Laboratory’s Summer 2014 award for Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency, said Toshiba America Business Solutions Chief Marketing Executive, Bill Melo. “Because of our strong commitment to a more sustainable society, our engineering and development teams continue to create and adopt a rich array of energy-saving and other eco-conscious features throughout each product we offer.”
Coinciding with the company’s philosophy of establishing a more sustainable planet, Toshiba offers its customers free toner recycling. Through its “Zero Waste to Landfill” program, the company accepts and recycles any manufacturer’s spent toner cartridges. By partnering with Close the Loop, nearly 193 tons of toner waste was recycled in 2013 – a 93 percent year-over-year increase – thereby preventing this significant amount of spent imaging consumables from filling open land.
