Silex Inside HDMI Over IP OEM Solution Is Interoperable With AES67 and SMPTE 2110 standards

Silex Inside is announcing the support of AES67 audio standard and SMPTE 2110 standard on its Viper OEM AV over IP solution. The support of AES67 and SMPTE 2110 is the reference in terms of open standard for streaming audio/video over IP network.

The Viper OEM solution is a fully functional stand-alone hardware board that enables HDMI over IP. It is a turnkey solution based on open standards. The flexibility and scalability of IP networking infrastructure makes it the best solution for transporting audio/video in many cases. Viper is a unique solution for transporting a 4K signal over a single 1Gb Ethernet cable with uncompromised quality and extremely low latency.

With the latest release, AES67 audio streams can also be received or transmitted by Viper. The support of AES67 adds interoperability with other specialized audio products and flexibility with regards to the audio processing. Viper is based on SMPTE ST 2110 standard and together with AES67, the Viper platform is the ideal interoperable solution for the professional audio and video distribution.

Based on the standards, PTP provides accurate clock synchronization across all the Viper encoders and decoders within the IP network. By using PTP, the audio and video from several sources distributed across multiple displays remain synchronized, even in extreme large installations.

“Building products around open standards guarantees to take advantage of the latest standardized technologies. It makes your product future-proof and reduces the risk of being locked to a specific vendor,” said Jean-Marie Cloquet, product manager at Silex Inside.

The Viper solution will be demonstrated during InfoComm 2018 show in Las Vegas at booth N677. More details are here.
