Rants and rAVes — Episode 563: ISE Special Videocast: BrightSign Debuts OPS Media Players on rAVe RADIO

Rants and rAVes —

BrightSign used my rAVe RADIO Videocast this morning to launch a new HD3 line of media players – aimed at the embedded player market. It all starts with a new OPS (Open Pluggable Specification), originally developed by Intel, allows for a standardized sec for building digital signage player son a card that will connect (or slide in to) any monitor with an OPS slot (including those from LGNEC,  Samsung  ELO  etc). In addition, BrightSign CEO, Jeff Hastings, showed me a new custom-built signage player on a card design that will allow 3rd-party integrators (stand-alone kiosk manufacturers, display companies, turn-key integrators) to add-in a BrightSign media player already on a card that can be located inside the finished product. Both the OPS player as well as the custom-made card-players are capable of working just like a stand-alone “box” player would, including with all the CMS partner applications that BrightSign has.

All the details are at www.BrightSign.biz and will be officially unveiled next week at the ISE show in Amsterdam – BrightSign will be in Hall 8 in stand K240.
