NAD Shows Generation 3 of MDC Modules, New VISO System and a PSB Outdoor Speaker

NADT755AVRMDC_65x355d-0111NAD Electronics will launch a trio of new products at CES this week including upgrade modules for NAD’s Modular Design Construction (MDC) program, the compact, big-sounding VISO THREE Music System, also from NAD, and PSB’s versatile new CS1000 Universal/Outdoor Speaker.

Now in their third generation, NAD’s new modules include the VM 150 high-speed Digital Video Module, which expands NAD support for 3D and digital media formats; the VM 150X HDMI Expansion Module, which adds HDMI 1.4a ports and broadens connectivity for A/V receivers; and the CM 200 Control4 Director Series Module, which, for the first time, adds Control4 functionality to MDC-equipped NAD A/V receivers. The new MDC modules will be available in the first quarter of 2011 at suggested prices still to be determined.

VISOThree_IPD2a-0111The compact VISO THREE Music System is sort of a boxed approach to a high-end music system as it simply plays CDs, connects to an iPod, includes a USB drive for MP3 audio, or you can listen to terrestrial or Internet radio. Key VISO THREE features include a CD player, support for MP3, CD-R and WMA audio formats, two 50-watt channels, and a FM/AM tuner with 30 station presets that let listeners save favorite stations for fast, easy recall and, of course, RDS capability shows information about all broadcasts from RDS-compliant radio channels, including station IDs and song and artist information. The VISO THREE Music System will be available in the first quarter of 2011 at a suggested price of $899 (U.S. MSRP).

vertwhite2bdarkbackgroundb-0111Also, finally, PSB has an outdoor speaker! According to PSB, the all-weather CS1000 is specially designed for open spaces such as decks and patios, in addition to a wide range of outdoor and indoor commercial environments, including retail stores, restaurants, hotels, and fitness centers. Housed in a thick, UV-resistant polypropylene cabinet, an aluminum grille, and rustproof terminals with a rubber cover for protection from the elements, the CS1000can be mounted vertically or horizontally and rotated along either axis, up to 90 degrees on one and 170 degrees on the other. PSB’s CS1000 Universal/Outdoor Speaker will be available in the First Quarter 2011 in a black or white finish at a manufacturer’s suggested price of $499/pair (U.S. MSRP).
