Hoofddorp, Netherlands, June 17, 2013 – Vivitek launches a completely new platform into the market with the multipurpose Vivitek D55x series. The series consists of five different models, of which two feature a native XGA resolution (D551 and D555), while the Vivitek D557W comes with a WXGA and the Vivitek D552 and D556 with an SVGA resolution. All models show the same crystal-clear pictures, with deep blacks and brilliant colors – due to the integration of the Texas Instruments DLP BrilliantColor chip technology and a five-segment colour wheel. A contrast ratio of 15000:1 and 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness ensure that the Vivitek D55x Series light up classrooms, meeting rooms and small boardrooms and everything in between, making them the ideal device for projection requirements ranging from presentations to movies.

The series’ versatility does not end with these features, though. The models offer a choice of resolution and connectivity to match any functional and budget requirement with a selection of 2 x VGA-in, VGA-out, HDMI (except D551, D552), S-Video, Composite and RS232. The series is also capable of Direct 3D via HDMI for the D555, D556 and D557W, whereas the D551 and D552 are 3D Ready. The source filtering function saves time locating device signal source, making it easier than ever before to switch between different presenters. Moreover, the convenient top-loading design makes lamp replacement child’s play.

The only thing the Vivitek D55x series is low on is its energy consumption: in stand-by mode, the models need less than 0.5 Watt and its lamp life up to 10,000h thanks to a new generation lamp and “Dynamic Eco Mode” smart power management. In addition, the rapid on/off for quick start-up and shut down ensures that not only presentations are ready to go in the blink of an eye, but that the projectors designed for durability and are environmentally friendly. Weighing in at only 2.3 kg each, the devices are light enough to carry to a different class- or conference room.

Pricing and Availability

The projectors of the Vivitek D55x series will be available from June 2013 onward with a Warranty of two years on the projector and one year on the lamp (or 1,000 hours).
