Meridian Audio to Debut New Hi-Res Audio & Custom Install Products During CEDIA 2017

AUGUST 2017—Meridian Audio celebrates its 40th Anniversary in style during CEDIA 2017 (Booth 4329) with a host of new products and industry partnerships designed to showcase the best possible home theater and audio performance in the home. The much-anticipated 271 Digital Theater Controller and 251 Powered Zone Controller will be on display, alongside flagship products from Meridian’s 200 series, demonstrating the company’s commitment to premium quality in the residential custom installation channel.

CEDIA attendees can experience this legendary Meridian quality in a dedicated sound room at the show. Created in partnership with Barco Residential, this exclusive space will create an immersive home theater experience, thanks to Meridian’s new 271 Digital Theater Controller, Barco’s highly acclaimed Loki 4K DLP laser home cinema projector and a Contempo micro-frame screen from DT Screens. Alongside Meridian’s own audio systems, DT Screens are now fully integrated into Meridian’s complimentary Design and Specification Service with Barco’s projectors and Cinema–ATS’ acoustic treatment solutions, to provide installers with a complete audio-visual lineup from the one company.

The 271 allows technology integrators to provide the best immersive, hi-res audio for home theater, with the ability to integrate any analog or digital AV processor or receiver with Meridian’s DSP loudspeakers. It’s the perfect option for Atmos, Auro, and DTS:X 3D systems, offering 16 unbalanced inputs, 16 balanced inputs and the option of 16 digital inputs.

Extending the 200 series further, the new 251 Powered Zone Controller brings Meridian’s superior audio performance for a variety of analog speaker applications. Its compact design features two powerful cool-running channels of onboard amplification enabled for hi-res audio including Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) audio.

Meridian will also preview two additional new products at CEDIA. Shipping by the end of this year, Meridian’s new UHD722 HDMI Processor will provide a 4K switch solution with MMHR output for connection to existing processors. The second new product, the Meridian 210 streamer, is designed to bring Bluetooth, Airplay and Spotify Connect to Meridian products. Pre-orders for these products can be taken at the CEDIA 2017. The popular 218 Zone Controller and 258 Power Amplifier products will also be available to view and experience at CEDIA this year, featuring Meridian’s unique up-sampling technology.

Meridian’s high-quality audio will provide the soundtrack for several other booths including Barco Residential, where visitors will be able to experience a range of Meridian loudspeakers driven by the 218 Zone Controller. The 218 will also be shown in Josh.ai’s booth, alongside a pair of Meridian’s loudspeakers, and attendees will be able to experience the new 251 Powered Zone Controller in Leon Speakers’ booth.

Hugo Fitzjohn, Meridian’s Technical Education Manager, will lead the CEDIA training session “Making the Most of Hi-Res in the Theater” on Thursday, September 7th from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in room 28E. This insightful session will explain how to install the ultimate home theater, as well as exploring the importance of high-resolution audio, how to specify the correct screen and projector, and how acoustic treatments can enhance the home cinema experience. Hugo will also look at the impact of cinema design on a room’s audio performance. The course, EST0034, will provide 1 CEU unit to those who attend and must be booked online prior to the show.

To complete the day, and celebrate Meridian’s 40th Anniversary, CEDIA attendees are invited to join the Meridian team for a drinks reception and networking Friday afternoon, September 8th. From 3-5pm, visitors can learn about high-resolution audio, new products, and Meridian’s complimentary Design and Specification Service.
