Low-Cost Crestron Auto-Switcher/Scaler/Extender Provides Simple Presentation Solution for Meeting Rooms and Classrooms

2069Las Vegas, NV – June 8, 2016 – At InfoComm16, June 8 – 10, Crestron is demonstrating its new low-cost HDMI® auto-switcher and extender pair that perfectly fills the need for a simple, reliable presentation solution for meeting rooms and classrooms. Intelligently designed and Crestron engineered to the highest DM® standards, the HD Scaling Auto-Switcher & Extender (HD-MD-400-C-E) has all the features system integrators want, at a breakthrough price.

The HD-MD-400-C-E packs HDBaseT® extension, a scaler for optimal image display for HD resolutions up to 2K, automatic switching, automatic display on/off via CEC, and Ethernet connectivity, all in a pair of compact, easy to deploy devices.

No programming required

Composed of a compact transmitter and receiver pair, the HD-MD-400-C-E can be installed in just minutes, with no special programming required. Mount the transmitter under a table or inside a lectern. With two HDMI® inputs and one VGA/analog audio input, it supports HD and legacy laptops. Mount the receiver behind the room display or above the projector. The receiver features an additional HDMI input, which can be used to connect a Crestron AirMedia® (AM-100) wireless presentation gateway or wall mount DM transmitter.

Both devices are powered together using a single wall mount power pack (included), which can be connected either at the receiver or at the transmitter location. Power is carried between the transmitter and receiver over the HDBaseT connection.

Connect and go

Just connect your laptop or smart device and content is automatically displayed. Auto-sync detection turns on the room display when the laptop is connected and the content instantly appears on screen. Plug in another device and the auto-switcher instantly displays the content from that source. No control system or touch screen is needed.

Built-in HD scaler

Many popular displays simply can’t handle all the different formats and resolutions you’re likely to encounter in a dynamic presentation environment. That’s why the HD-MD-400-C-E was designed with built-in scaling to support a complete range of digital and analog signals. It ensures that every source displays reliably and beautifully.

Easy setup

Connect the LAN port on the receiver to your Ethernet network for easy setup and configuration via a Web browser. Click the Crestron Fusion® software check box to instantly get basic room data, such as occupancy, display on/off, source selection, and to easily update and manage rooms remotely.*
