Best New Portable Projector: RICOH Desk Edge
RICOH’s done a great job of differentiating its Desk Edge projector — sure, the Ricoh PJ X3340N is just an XGA resolution, single-chip DLP like hundreds of other projectors out there, but Ricoh has thought out how this will likely be used as a portable. The company integrated it with a forward-facing exhaust (so people sitting to the right, left or behind it don’t get blown with exhaust heat) and connections are also on the front – this is out of the way of people walking around the projector. The lens is short throw, so at 5 feet away from the screen, you can get a 100″ diagonal image. Here’s a video we shot of it at InfoComm and here’s the data sheet.
