Indonesian Court Museum Selects Symetrix SymNet Edge for Exhibit Audio Processing

phpm4jnd3AMJAKARTA, INDONESIA: A DSP solution from Symetrix is providing powerful processing and Audinate Dante audio networking support for one of Central Jakarta’s leading tourist destinations. The specification of the SymNet Edge open-architecture scalable DSP and related xIn 12 and xOut 12 expansion boxes was the brainchild of leading Indonesian audio supplier and consultant Pt Gracia Auvindo.

The high channel count and low latency of Audinate’s Dante media networking solution made support for the technology a must-have when it came to the Museum of Indonesia’s Constitutional Court (MKRI), which explains to Indonesians how the country gained its independence following the Second World War, and its latest audio upgrade.

“The Museum needed first-class DSP and Dante audio networking support for the 32 channels of audio running into and out of the system. There was also a requirement to allow for future system expansion. On both counts, SymNet Edge ticked the boxes!” declares Halim.

The final design sees a SymNet Edge DSP configured with a pair of four-channel analogue input cards and a further pair of four-channel analogue output cards, along with two units apiece of SymNet’s xIn 12 and xOut 12 expansion boxes. “The system provides audio processing for all 32 zones – each of which has touch-screens fed from locally-installed PCs – as well as capability for override paging and announcements through an Audix ADX-18 gooseneck microphone,” explains Halim.

Control is via an ARC-2e wall-panel in the main equipment rack and also though the Symetrix ARC-WEB app loaded onto the museum staff’s smartphones. The exhibit sound is covered by a number of Ecler IC8 8-inch ceiling loudspeakers, reinforced by a Coda Audio K5 high-SPL system for the larger attractions. Another zone benefits from surround sound and has been outfitted with 5-inch coaxial D-Tube speakers and a PW112a self-powered subwoofer.

A systems integrator of more than 15 years’ experience, and a long-term Symetrix system distributor, PT Gracia Auvindo is unsurprised by the “complete satisfaction” shown by MKRI in its new processing infrastructure. “We have always had complete confidence in the Symetrix product range, from the Jupiter fixed-architecture standalone DSP to the latest SymNet open-architecture systems with onboard Dante networking. No matter what the project, Symetrix provides something to perfectly complement the specific requirements,” affirms Halim.
