India embraces K-array with a new voice

phpRbPUBLAMSeptember 2014 On 26 May Narendra Modi from the BJP – Bharatlya Janata Party was appointed the new Prime Minister of India after a hard-fought campaign and a vast amount of new media that has never been seen before in anticipation for this historic occasion for India. Modi just wanted to lean on technology to double his chances of reaching the wider Indian territory. Electoral Modi started with a variety of holographics displayed around the country from April 7 to May 12 Modi with his campaign fleet, lavishly decorated and endowed with the necessary equipment (including projectors, microphones and speakers) reaching over 1500 locations in India and projecting up to 53 speeches simultaneously. Modi is not the only Prime Minister who has used K-array portable systems, they have also been used by Barak Obama and Xi Jingping.

We were lucky enough to see one of the trucks used for this colossal tour during the recent edition of InfoComm India, which was held in Mumbai from 17 to 19 September. In fact, among the exhibitors at the event was Modern Stage Service, who distribute many of the products that featured on the tour, especially the popular K-array KR402 used for every speech on the journey. It had sparked a lot of interest from many visitors at the event.

Pratik Wadhwa of Modern Stage Service told us about the history of the company, a strict family, now in its third generation: “It ‘was founded by my grandfather in 1958; in reality he was an electrician, but very fond of the showbiz world, so he was always seeking positions in that area. In ’58 he had the opportunity to take care of the electrical system of a theater, and from there he began to build the foundations” Today the company distributes 22 brands including K-array.

“Our main business is related to events and concerts, but in five years we also design and install within corporate environments, and we have completed more than 1,000 auditoriums all over the country. I really like K-array. It has a great appeal to our customers thanks to the unique design. It’s compact, fashionable and so elegant which suits our broadcasting installations perfectly. This Italian company we met four years ago at the fair Pro Light and Sound in Frankfurt have made a huge impact for us. Of course in India is not easy to propose foreign brands, because the cost basis plus high import taxes, but in many cases private clients appreciate the difference. The new Prime Minister has promised to expand the Indian infrastructure and then we expect that in the coming years there will be plenty of exciting installations and events for new auditoria, offices, museums, etc.. India is definitely a very important market at this time.”
