CEDIA is committed to implementing practices and providing education in pursuit of environmental responsibility, as well as supporting members in their sustainability-oriented efforts. The Sustainable Lifestyles Action Team, a core component of CEDIA’s Technology Council, works year-round to drive programs that support and encourage these practices.
Sustainable Lifestyles initiatives at CEDIA EXPO include:
- Sustainable Lifestyles Awards - Highlighting standouts in the Business Practices and Product Innovation categories
- Sustainable Lifestyles Educational Seminars - Focusing on business model, design, and installation of energy management systems (see pages 23, 28, & 29 of the virtual registration brochure)
- Green Exhibitor Program – Designating exhibitors in EXPO materials that are showcasing products that support sustainable living*
- Future Technology Pavilion – Showcasing the future of sustainable lifestyles (see page 6 of the virtual registration brochure)
- Keynote Panel – The Future of Energy Management
- Carbonfund.org – Donating funds during registration to offset EXPO travel emissions
- CEDIA University – Reducing the amount of print materials used in education sessions through online delivery of courseware smartphone app
- Exhibits – Offering the opportunity to reduce booth materials by utilizing CEDIA electronic delivery to attendees
- Signage – Reducing printed signage by utilizing digital signage for all educational sessions
- Event Facilities – Sharing CEDIA’s commitment to responsible practices.
At CEDIA EXPO 2010, the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) will offer recycling, Habitat for Humanity donations from exhibit materials, food bank donations, composting, water cooler and pitcher usage, and eco-friendly facility supplies. CEDIA is also working closely with the GWCC staff to schedule, monitor, and control HVAC and electrical usage during CEDIA EXPO to reduce energy consumption.
