Atlona to Show Composite and S-Video to HDMI Scaler at CEDIA
Aimed at converting old-format sources (VCRs, game players, etc) to HDMI for simplicity of system integration, Atlona will show the AT-HD580 at CEDIA. This scaler is designed to upscale any standard definition and high definition video signal to an HDMI output since it can take Composite Video, S-Video with Audio and/or two HDMI inputs, and scale all of the signals to HDTV resolutions up to 1080p. Atlona actually claims that the AT-HD580 outputs a 1920x1200 or 1080p resolution image “without signal or noise degradation” – mark that with a BIG asterisk.
The $350 scaler will ship mid-September and you can read about it here (be warned – their website is pretty awesome... if it were 1995): http://www.atlona.com/Atlona-Composite-S-Video-Dual-HDMI-input-Scaler-p-17866.html
