IDK America today announced the ruggedized version of IP-NINJAR

php1g5yq9AMBloomfield CT — March 28, 2016 — IDK America today announced the ruggedized version of IP-NINJAR. IP-NINJAR is a family of IP gateway transmitter and receiver end devices that provide conversion of HDMI video signals up to 4K resolutions (4:4:4: 60Hz) over a 10G Ethernet connection. For use with all video signals or as part of the IDK MSD router solution the new ruggedized version is designed to address broadcast, staging and rental customers’ requirements as they continue to migrate away from baseband signals to all-IP-based operations.

“At IDK America we are committed to supporting our customers through every technology transition, all products are designed for quick and easy deployment. The current trend of migrating away from baseband signals and to all-IP-based operations offers compelling benefits — such as lowering OPEX through the use of standard off-the-shelf technologies,” said Bob Pennington, national sales manager at IDK America. “At the same time, legacy HDMI and SDI video devices will play a role in switching infrastructures for years to come. The new IP-NINJAR system provides a bridge in the migration from traditional baseband and IP signal processing. The IP-NINJAR is the latest IDK products to support customers as they make a gradual yet inevitable transition to an IP-based infrastructure.”

Controlled by IP-NINJAR software layer, the new IP system provides a granular way to add IP devices, sources or destinations, to create a de-centralized switching infrastructure. With IP-NINJAR controlling the gateway devices and the IP fabric, legacy video devices can be utilized as if they were native IP. The result is a hybrid environment that facilitates conversion of video signals between baseband signals (SDI/HDMI), preserving users’ current investment in legacy equipment while enabling them to begin seamlessly integrating newer IP-based video devices.

The new IP gateway transmitter and receiver units are now available and shipping. More information about the full IDK product family is available at www.idkav.com.
