Chinese-Based HNA Group Buys Ingram Micro for 6 Billion
Reuters is reporting that a Chinese-owned aviation and shipping company, HNA Group is buying Ingram Micro for $6 Billion. Ingram’s stock closed at $29.65 yesterday and the buy-out value is at a little over $38 per share.
This will have an impact on the AV market. Why? This shipping company will not want an AV division. They will likely want to dump that division as it is too small and too fragmented. Thus, this division of Ingram Micro is ripe for being bought out — as they do have a good business model.
We will follow this story as it develops but Ingram is the world’s largest wholesale technology products distributor.
Ingram Micro is here and HNA Group is here.
