Extron Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Crestron over Cable Retractor

extron-ccretractor_70-678-01-0614Extron Electronics announced today that it has filed a federal lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Central District of California against Crestron Electronics, Inc. for infringement of Extron’s US Patent No. 8,740,127 entitled “Cable Retractor.”

The Extron Cable Retractor patent relates to a cable retraction and management system designed to work with cable access enclosures. Crestron’s retractor products accused of infringing Extron’s Cable Retractor patent include Crestron’s cable retractor models CBLR-HD, CBLR-VGA, CBLR-AUDIO, CBLR-USB and CBLR-CAT5E, which the federal complaint alleges implement Extron’s patented technology.

“Extron’s engineers have led the way in the development of the cable retractors,” says Andrew Edwards, President and CEO of Extron. “When Extron believes its inventions and patented technology have been copied or otherwise infringed, we take the necessary steps to protect our intellectual property.”
