Crystal Screens Announces Groundbreaking 130” Projection Screen for the Home Theater Market

TORRANCE, CA – August 9, 2017 – Crystal Screens (CEDIA 2017 booth #3451), a manufacturer of ultra-high-performance nano-lens projection screens for the residential and commercial markets, announces the availability of a 130” diagonal screen tailored for high-end home cinema. Utilizing the company’s proprietary holographic technology that rejects all types of ambient light sources and provides uniform optical performance over all color spectrums, the new seamless screen has a 2.4:1 aspect ratio, commonly known as Cinemascope, which is becoming increasingly popular in home theater installations.

“This screen is a groundbreaking development for high-end home theaters,” notes Dave Cusick, Director of Sales for Crystal Screens. “Our technology and production capabilities are so vastly different than other screen materials that we are able to make the 130” screen without a seam and with all the amazing qualities of our smaller screens such as high gain, outstanding detail and black levels and zero hot spots.”

According to Cusick, the wider aspect ratio is becoming more common in residential installations because the 2.4:1 format matches the aspect ratio of many films being produced today. “It’s a wider format than standard 16:9 so you won’t have the distracting black bars on the top and bottom of the screen,” he exclaims. “The frame will match the video because most popular movies are now filmed using the wider aspect ratio.”

In addition to the exceptional gain and ambient light rejection, the Reflect 3.0 130” screen includes a three-inch-wide, velvet covered bezel with a proprietary frame tensioning design that is easy to assemble.

Designed and manufactured in Crystal Screens’ high-tech facility in Torrance, California, the fixed screen ships unassembled, reducing shipping costs and lead times. Other benefits include the ability to produce endless screen lengths with no seaming and excellent contrast and black levels in bright, dim or dark environments.
