cedia_logo_300px-1012INDIANAPOLIS (December 16, 2013) — The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association has launched a new website and online learning portal that will serve as the go-to resource for home technology professionals, with exclusive content for CEDIA members. The new cedia.net delivers robust content and tools aimed to help home technology professionals in every aspect of their business.

“We’ve listened carefully to the needs of our members and have spent two years developing a user friendly, content rich portal,” said Jamie Riley, Senior Director of Marketing & PR.  “For the first time, both members and non-member visitors will have their own personalized dashboard with quick links to high priority areas including a “My CEDIA” area that will be a complete digital archive of that individual’s CEDIA activities and training.”

The personal CEDIA archive includes sections such as “My Training”, “My Benefits”, and “My Events” among other personalized data to help users have the ultimate CEDIA experience. What were formerly separate systems for company records, transcripts, and training have now been merged into one clean, user-friendly system. A new company administrator function allows for easy management of employee records and transcripts.

CEDIA Training has been streamlined on the site to make it easy for individuals to find and register for face-to-face events and training. Online training offerings have also been substantially expanded.

“Our online training will be easier to access than ever before,” said Dave Pedigo, Senior Director of Technology & Learning. “In addition to our popular webinars and eCourses, cedia.net will also have over 35 learning videos offering short digestible insights from some of our top instructors on topics such as HDMI, security systems, and automation.”

Online training is not the only area that has been expanded, the resource section will host, over 20 technical white papers, 8 research reports, 50+ CEDIA training course guides, and more than 100 tools and templates to help home technology professionals with business and technical efficiencies.

“Some of these tools and resources have previously been available but a majority are newly developed,” said Dennis Erskine, CEDIA Board Member. “The new cedia.net offers 24/7 access to every available resource and nearly all the content in the resources section is available to CEDIA members at no cost.”

A new feature, specific to the company administrator, allows each company administrator to add employees to the system and easily check the status of their certifications.

“The new cedia.net website is one of the largest initiatives from the five year strategic plan set forth by the CEDIA Board of Directors in 2011,” said Don Gilpin, Executive Director & COO. “This new portal will continue to be developed and expanded to serve the needs of the industry globally and more specifically our members.”

The new website is currently live, individuals may log into the new portal by following the instructions outlined here.
