The past five days have been a roller coaster for me. My daughter attends Pepperdine University – just a quick Google search will tell you what they’ve been through with the wildfires and bar shooting since last Thursday. But, the leadership of the campus and the community came though and maintained continuous, and professional (and detailed) communication with the parents. Saying it’s been nerve-racking is an understatement.
And, the outreach from the AV community of so-called #AVtweeps, a hashtag moniker for all of us in AV – coined by our very-own rAVe Blogger Johnny Mota, was amazing. I received hundreds of messages from you all out there asking for information and expressing concern. Genuinely. It’s why I LOVE the AV community and it’s why I will never leave it.
I realize this is a weighty intro for just a newsletter, but I think it’s safe to say most of us in AV work here not just because we like our jobs, but because we love the people we work with. I am surrounded in my very own office by amazing, emotionally intelligent and cool AV geeks and an extended family of #AVtweeps that care about all this stuff. So, thank you! Thank you. Thank you.
